Armada House, Bristol

PRE Chartered Surveyors were instructed to carry out a Due Diligence Pre-Acquisition survey including Mechanical and Electrical services of Armada House in Bristol.

Dated 1903, Armada House is a Grade II Listed four storey (plus basement), building comprising of an events and conference venue. Thought to have been designed by local well known architect Henry Williams, the building is and is of Edwardian Baroque style and also boasts a Jacobean style 1700 stone fire surround with Ionic and Corinthian columns, as well as a similarly-styled 1550 stone fire surround in the ground-floor.

Originally the building was the head office of the Bristol Water Company and in the 1970’s to the late 1990’s the property was owned by British Telecom.

Numerous defects typical to a property of this age were identified, particularly to the lower ground level and masonry facades, which were all reported in detail with indicative costings.
